After a dominant 82–59 road win at Rutgers on Friday, Indiana returns home Tuesday night to face No. 12 Purdue in one of the biggest rivalry games of the season. Tip is 9 p.m. ET on Peacock in Bloomington.
Purdue comes in off a tough weekend, losing 88–82 at home to Illinois despite a 27-point, 12-assist night from Braden Smith and leading late. Illinois freshman Keaton Wagler poured in a historic 46 points — including nine 3-pointers — to lead the comeback. It was Purdue’s second straight loss and dropped them in the Big Ten power picture.
That loss tells us a couple things:
• Purdue still scores — they rank near the top of the league — but defense and rebounding have been vulnerabilities that opponents have exploited.
