Bad Bunny Sunday, Bad Bison Monday

Hopeful Hoosier

A Hoosier’s hopeful look at the team, the tradition, and the road back

It’s kind of wild that we already get another IU basketball game on a Monday night.

Coming off that overtime thriller Saturday. After a Super Bowl Sunday. With the Hoosiers having won four of their last five.

Momentum is a real thing right now.

There’s been a lot of talk the last couple days about Bad Bunny headlining the Super Bowl halftime show. Word around Bloomington is that Bad Bison will be performing at halftime tonight instead. Different vibe. Still electric. 🦬

IU (16-8, 7-6) hosts Oregon (8-15, 1-11) tonight, a team that nearly knocked off Purdue over the weekend, so this isn’t one to sleepwalk through. They’re capable, physical, and good enough to make things uncomfortable if you let them hang around.

That said… here’s hoping for something different tonight.

No Heart Attack Hoosiers. No late stumbles. No dramatic finishes needed.

This feels like a game where Indiana should be able to set the tone early, share the scoring like we’ve seen lately, defend, rebound, and let Assembly Hall carry it home without turning it into another nail-biter like Purdue or Wisconsin.

Saturday was fun. Saturday was unforgettable.

Tonight? Let’s just win it the calm way.

See you at the Hall — or on the couch — either way, let’s keep this thing rolling. 🔴⚪
